Many photo vault apps upload your private photos to their servers or charge a monthly subscription. A local vault takes the opposite approach: your photos stay on your iPhone, and you pay once if you want more.
Why local storage matters
With a local vault, nobody else stores your private photos, and there is no vault account that could be breached or forgotten. PureVault encrypts vault content on your device with AES-GCM, keeps the keys in the iPhone’s Keychain and needs no PureVault account.
How pricing works without a subscription
PureVault is free to download. The free plan already includes encryption and the app passcode and holds up to 10 imported items. An optional one-time in-app purchase removes the import limit and adds PDF import and the gallery view. There is no subscription; the App Store shows the current price for your region before you buy.
The purchase does not add cloud storage or stronger encryption. How much you can keep depends on your iPhone’s free storage.
The trade-offs, honestly
No automatic sync. The vault lives on one device. To move it, create an encrypted .purevault transfer file.
You are in charge of copies. Export what you want to keep before deleting the app or resetting your iPhone.
Purchases still go online. Apple and RevenueCat verify purchases; your vault photos, notes and keys are not sent to them.
